Our good friend Colin Miller, to whom Autocade Year of Cars 2025 is dedicated, has passed away, aged 88.
Colin was a motorhead, like most of us connected to Autocade. I still remember having a conversation with him about a Mercury Marquis I spotted. I said it was a beautiful hardtop sedan, and I was working through my head whether it was a ’68 or a ’69.
Colin said that it must have been a ’69—and of course he was right, since the ’68s were two-door only.
That’s the sort of detail that not everyone can claim.
On my last visit to see him and his wife Pat, I gave him his own copy of Autocade Year of Cars 2025, which he had ordered. I think he knew of the dedication as through family we must have asked for his blessing. We got chatting about various cars, including full-size Fords and the last Crown Victoria.
He knew much more than big American cars, and loved cars in general. He will be missed.
