I’m very glad to say that we’ve soft-launched Autocade Year of Cars 2026, with the motoring press being notified soon.
Like all good journalism projects, I wrote stories on things I didn’t know about but wanted to pursue. When did BMW grilles get all so confusing? The Bugatti Tourbillon was previewed in 2024, but I really wanted to examine it now, especially as it did its world tour in advance of sales during 2025 and was no longer a studio-shot project. What are its stylistic connections? Ferrari launched its 849 Testarossa, so exploring the flagship mid-engined cars looked interesting, too. Quite early on, having decided that I wouldn’t do a Chinese luxury car guide (no point treading old ground, and there wasn’t that much to add), I wanted to do a “hit parade” of 2025 (and some 2026) new releases, inspired by Auto Universum. There are the industry analyses, including one story called ‘Will BYD overtake Ford?’. I hope, of course, that you find this all interesting as well.
You can buy your hardcover copy now at an early-bird price of £24·99, with free postage in the UK. I realize last year we kept the price discounted, but I can foresee this creeping back up, so please get your order in.
