The fact it took JLR two weeks to issue any sort of statement doesn’t bode well, as it points to boardroom drama and the leadership being out of touch with the public.
They either don’t care—which is a bad sign for those who might be in the new hyper-luxury target market for the rebranded Jaguar—or they don’t have proper processes to deal with such incidents. And that could mean this is something deeply serious inside JLR.
