Two very different Japanese model lines have been completed on Autocade. The first is the Suzuki MR Wagon (not to be confused with the Suzuki Wagon R), which, once upon a time and badged as the Maruti Suzuki Zen Estilo, replaced the original Zen. Despite the name, it never had a mid-mounted engine or rear-wheel drive, though a concept with the name did. After 2016, Suzuki rolled things into a single Wagon R range, making things less confusing.

The second is an absolute legend: the Nissan Fairlady Z. The original Z30 and then-current Z34 were added in 2009 and the “boulevard cruiser” Z31 in 2011, but it was only in more recent times that the other generations appeared, finally completing the six generations with the Z32 of 1989–2000 earlier this year.

Striking: an attempt to return to a performance bent in 1989 with the Z32.

Their predecessor will be added under Datsun Fairlady, since the car used this brand even on the home market.

There is too much to say on this hallowed line, from its evolution as an attractive yet hairy sports with a competition history to something softer, then Nissan began reclaiming the Z’s performance bent with the Z32 and continued with it into the 21st century (though as anyone who has driven a JDM Z33 will attest, it was still somewhat soft at base level). Head over to the nameplate page on Autocade and explore the generations.
